bulletin board project

today was the second time i've found one of these lovelies. (love the lines but less crazy about the overdone wine pictures) but at less than retail and with the glass knob thing my house is my favorite for, it fits right in. the first time round i altered with paper, keeping the dark wood look going on (a perfect fit for the chocolate entryway) this one, i decided to take another direction to make it a kitchen fit.

steps for the interested:

1. paint with cream when it doubt, especially when, like this one, there are dings and trim missing
2. when dry (or if impatient like i am, nearly dry) rough up along the edges with sandpaper.
3. sometimes less is more. my first project took more time with its paper trimming and stamping -- this one i let echo the old doors in my house and simply painted the recessed bits.

  1. What a great find! I love how you changed the look! Great job!

  2. Love the bulletin board, so cute!

love to hear from you :)
